Marla Ruth Allisan JD, LICSW is an attorney/clinical social worker who founded an adoption agency, Full Circle Adoptions (Northampton, MA) fourteen years ago. What’s usually left unsaid is that her daughter, conceived by DI, has just turned 18 and her donor/biological father is someone her daughter will soon reach out to since he consented to be contacted when she reached majority. (She has permission to say this!) Also left unsaid is that, under a stage name (not telling!), Marla does stand-up comedy a few times a year. She’s a closet pianist and a proud essayist. When not enjoying life in other ways, she is writing a play about the things people say to each other in bed; she’s up to Act IV and eager to gather new stories for the rest. She specializes in domestic infant adoption and also heads up one of the few agencies in America accredited to place children with families in other countries as well.
