The Video Playwright

Joey Brenneman is a member of The Dramatists Guild.  In 2004, Joey co-produced her play  Of Loss and Grace (Theater 5, NYC).  From this production, Joey was recognized by International Family Magazine in their world of talent section and went on to become  a contributing editor with the magazine.  In 2000, another one of her plays, Fast Break, was selected to be part of Women Center Stage at The Culture Project in 2000.  Joey has also written and directed  numerous educational videos and PSA’s.  Her film, Taking a Step Back, which she wrote and directed won the “Best of Specials” Award from Manhattan Neighborhood Network and was selected for the Urban Visionaries Film Festival.

Other  directing credits include 5 years as Artistic Director of STAR Theater (nitestar.org) Two Girls (Capitol Fringe 09 , NYIMTF 09).  Currently she is directing two shows in the New York Fringe Festival; Two Girls and The Timing of a Day (mindtheart.org).

Joey also runs a program for young people to help them find their voice through theater and writing.
